We've recently completed a couple of big jobs for which we used sheets sets to keep track of everything.  It's been a few weeks since I've used any of the sheets sets but they are still taking up 9 of the 10 spots in the recently used file list.

I'd like to be able to access the files I have actually used recently, is there any way to stop the sheet lists showing up in there?

Check out this post over at JTBWorld.

http://blog.jtbworld.com/2008/09/clear-sticky-sheet-sets-from-recent.html

The registry location

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.2\ACAD-7001:409\Recent File List

specified is for Autocad 2009 with the following being for Civil 3d 2011

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R18.1\ACAD-9000:409\Recent File List

Other versions use similar locations, just the "R18.1" and "ACAD-9000:409" parts change depending on the autocad version and whether you are using civil 3d, autocad or some other vertical.

Thanks Andrew.  I've managed to clear the list in the Sheet Set Manager but right clicking the Recently Used Files list under the C menu thing in the top left hand corner doesn't bring up any options at all so I can't clear the recent files list (C3D 2011).  I expect the .dst files will drop off with time anyway.

If you delete one of the keys under the registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R18.1\ACAD-9000:409\Recent File List

Civil 3d will see the list as modified/out of sync and clear the recent file list entirely.

One thing I discovered in the recent drawings list is that you can change from "By Ordered List" to "By Type" and then collapse the dst section.
