If i want to suppress the "layout tool" so it wont appear each time i go to paper space, is there a system variable or do i have to hack the cui?

2 ways I know you can do it.

1. Turn off context sensitve ribbon switching - by setting the RIBBONCONTEXTSELECT to 0 (The same as going into the Options dialogue, -> Selection tab, -> select the Contextual Tab States... button and select "Do not switch to contextual tab on selection" then click "Ok" and "Ok,) - but this turns off contextual tab switching for all objects. Sad

2. Do as I have done. - go into the cui editor and remove the "Layout Tools" tab from the "Layout Tools" node under the Ribbon Contextual Tab States in the acad.cuix (which is usually loaded as a partial customization file - It may be under another CUIX so check the "Layout Tools node under the Ribbon Contextual Tab States of all the load Cuix's just in case)

Andrew,

Thanks, i have the RIBBONCONTEXTSELECT set to 0, and thought that as this wanst doing it could be another silly system variable.

Hack the CUI to save the day..

It would be nice if Autodesk didnt just force thing on to us?

Cheers
