Dashed2 Linetype
«

Hi,
I am using C3D 2012 and everytime I open a company template, ANZ template or even start a new drawing without a template I end up with the Dashed2 linetype loaded. I've just spent the better part of a hour trying to purge out the linetype without any success.
This is also happening on another employees computer who is running C3D 2012 but does not happen when using plain Autocad. Can anyone shed some light on this problem??

Usually if you can't purge out the linestyle in civil 3d it is referenced in a style, which makes it unpurgable.
I don't know why your company template would have this unless it was in there previously unless someone has added it since the 2012 upgrade.
Is there anything new in your company template since the 2012 Upgrade?
I would check the blocks in your drawings to see if they are using the linetype and then check through the styles.
2012 has the ability to find style references, but I don't think it works with linetypes.
You could use the rename command to rename it to a linetype name that you use regularly and then load proper definition of that linetype to redefine the linetype. This might have odd effects though if the linetype is referenced by a style.

Hi Andrew,
I realised that the linetype was probably referenced in a standard style as soon as I had posted this. I spent a good hour going through all the styles and managed to find Dashed2 referenced in the standard alignment style, but even after I changed it back to ByLayer I still couldn't purge it so I think I have missed another reference somewhere. I was working on our autocad templates which only have our company titleblock in them (no C3D styles) and I had deleted and purged everything out of the drawing so its definately not in a block.
But finding the reference is not going to fix my problem because even if I can change the template file and save it, next time I go and start a new drawing the standard styles for C3D 2012 will bring in the dashed2 linetype again.
Its not something which adversely affects our drawings in any way but it is really really annoying, especially since its not a linetype we use - even more so when everything in C3D 2011 seemed to be either Bylayer or ByBlock.
