It would be good to be able to see a CAD drawing to help with locating assets if doing field inspections.
Does it do this?
Thanks.

Yes it does.
Onsite Connect incorporates a program called Onsite View which allows you to open a background drawing to help locate assets. You can also add notes to the drawing and other "markup" information.

Thanks Paul,
Yes, quite right. Onsite Connect incorporates Autodesk OnSite View to enable viewing and a basic markup of AutoCAD (2004) DWG files. Autodesk Onsite View automatically converts the DWG file to an OSD file for viewing. When we markup drawings we only utilise the point (flag) marker to visibly highlight locations of interest. These are then saved inside the form and project within Onsite Connect.

Autodesk tell us that....
Autodesk OnSite View helps you review, mark up, and measure your AutoCAD drawings electronically right at the point of work - on the construction site, the manufacturing floor, or anywhere you need access to your design information.

Autodesk OnSite View uses Microsoft's powerful ActiveSync software to automatically manage and synchronize design drawings on your PDA. You can have your design drawings available for viewing and revision wherever you go. When you synchronize your desktop and your mobile device, your revisions move to your desktop ready for sharing with your other Autodesk applications.

So there you have it.
Cheers,
Stretch  Wink
